Upcoming STCW & Powerboat Courses – October & November 2025

For crew preparing to work in yachting, on expedition vessels, or aboard cruise liners, or for those looking to advance their maritime careers, Seascope France offers internationally recognised STCW and RYA courses available in October and November.

RYA Powerboat Level 2 (PB2)

Dates: 27–28 October & 30–31 October

The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is a two-day practical training designed to develop your tender-handling skills and on-water confidence. It covers close-quarters manoeuvring, safety procedures, man-overboard recovery, and basic navigation.

STCW Basic Safety Training (A-VI/1-1 to 1-4 + A-VI/1-6)

Dates: 27–31 October & 10–14 November

The mandatory starting point for all seafarers, this five-day course provides the essential safety knowledge and practical skills required to work at sea. Training includes:

• Personal Survival Techniques (A-VI/1-1)

• Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (A-VI/1-2)

• Elementary First Aid (A-VI/1-3)

• Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (A-VI/1-4)

• Personal Safety Awareness (A-VI/1-6)

STCW Basic Safety training is essential for everyone beginning a career at sea — in yachting, commercial shipping, or cruise operations. It equips with the fundamental safety knowledge, emergency response skills, and awareness needed to work safely and effectively in any maritime role.

STCW Crowd Management & Crisis Management and Human Behaviour (A-V/2-1 & A-V/2-2)

Date: 01 November 2025

This one-day course prepares crew to handle emergency situations involving passengers on board cruise ships or expedition vessels. Training includes leadership, communication, crowd control, and crisis response. The certification is required for anyone employed on board passenger or expedition ships and large charter vessels.

STCW Advanced Fire Fighting (A-VI/3)

Dates: 03–06 November 2025

A four-day advanced training that develops command, control, and tactical firefighting abilities for those leading or managing fire teams. STCW Advanced Fire Fighting certificate is a key requirement for officer-level positions and MCA-approved qualifications.

STCW Advanced Fire Fighting Refresher (A-VI/3-1)

Date: 07 November 2025

This one-day refresher course updates practical and theoretical firefighting knowledge and maintains your STCW certification.
