Prerequisites
To be eligible for the RYA Yachtmaster Certificate of Competence examination, candidates must hold:
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- RYA SRC / VHF Radio Licence
- RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Shorebased Theory (recommended knowledge level)
- Required sea time and passages (see below)
Important
At least 50% of qualifying sea time must be gained in tidal waters.
