RYA Professional Practice & Responsibilities
The RYA Professional Practices & Responsibilities (PPR) course is an online course designed for anyone applying for an RYA Commercial Endorsement. A Commercial Endorsement allows eligible RYA qualifications such as Powerboat, Day Skipper and Yachtmaster to be used for commercial work, subject to the operating limits of each certificate.
The course introduces the legal, safety and professional responsibilities involved in operating commercially, including commercial regulations, safe manning, vessel requirements, risk assessment and duty of care. It helps candidates understand their responsibilities as professional skippers and crew and how to operate safely and legally within the commercial maritime environment. It is completed online and includes an end-of-course assessment.
