Terms and Conditions for Training Courses

The following terms and conditions apply to the booking of SEASCOPE FRANCE - AKA `Seascope` training courses:

Course bookings:

Bookings can be made online, via the website www.yachtcrewtraining.com, by email (sophie@seascopefrance.com), or by telephone (+33 (0)6 08 68 95 31). Telephone bookings must be confirmed in writing upon request.

Any persons wanting to benefit from the discounted rates applied to the training packages must book within a 3 month period.

Payment Terms:

Our standard payment term is that a payment is taken at booking - unless otherwise stated. This can be a deposit payment or full payment. If payment by invoice has been previously agreed, the payment for this is immediate and must be paid before the start of the reserved course date - unless other arrangements have been previously agreed.

Deposits and Cancellation:

Upon enquiry of the availability of the training spaces, a minimum of 50% deposit of the value of the course is to be made. This will secure a place on the selected course.  If you cancel at least 30 days prior to the start of the course, you will receive a full refund minus a 10% administration fee. If you cancel between 30 and 14 days prior to the start of the course, you will receive 50% refund.  If you cancel less than 14 days prior to the start of the course, you will not receive a refund. Cancellation MUST be made in writing to info@seascopefrance.com and  sophie@seascopefrance.com . Should circumstances mean that you need to transfer to another course date, this can be accommodated when possible.

Agreed credit held with Seascope France will need to be used within a 12-month period from the date of approval.

Non-Attendance:

If you do not attend a course, and you have not previously informed us, the full course fee remains payable. Non-Attendance due to a compelling reason requires proof by a medical professional.

 Late arrivals and missed sessions:

If you arrive late for a course, or are absent from any session, Seascope France reserves the right to refuse to accept you for training if we feel that you gain insufficient knowledge or skill in the time remaining. In such cases, the full course fee remains payable. Any issues relating to the prevention of travel is NOT the responsibility of Seascope France. To conform with Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA), Royal Yachting Association(RYA) and GUEST requirements for certification, attendance at all sessions is mandatory.

 Updated Proficiency Courses (Refresher Training):

To be eligible to attend Updated Proficiency Courses, students must present proof of the required pre-requisites for course attendance.

 Unforeseen Circumstances:

On occasion, unforeseen circumstances may require us to cancel a course. In such circumstances you will be given as much notice as possible and either a free transfer to another course date or a full refund of fees paid. Seascope France is NOT liable for any costs incurred to attend the course and/or provisions made for attending the course.
