Seascope France Successfully Approved to Deliver MCA AEC2 Course
Last week, Seascope France was successfully approved to deliver the MCA Approved Engine Course 2 (AEC2). This marks an important step in expanding our engineering training pathway and reinforces our commitment to providing high-quality, industry-recognised yacht crew education.
The AEC2 course is designed for crew working in, or looking to move into, the engine department. It is particularly suitable for deckhands, junior engineers, and anyone wanting to build a strong technical foundation onboard.
The course focuses on practical learning. Students develop a clear understanding of marine engineering systems, including maintenance, fault finding, and safe working practices in the engine room. The training is hands-on and directly relevant to real onboard situations.
Completing AEC2 is an important step for career progression. It supports crew working towards higher engineering qualifications and improves employability. As yachts become more complex, there is increasing demand for crew with solid engineering knowledge and practical skills.
Seascope France is already approved to deliver the MCA Approved Engine Course 1 (AEC1), which is required before taking AEC2. With both approvals in place, students can complete their training from beginner to intermediate level with us.
We offer AEC1 and AEC2 as a combined package, with a discounted price. This provides a clear and efficient pathway to build engineering knowledge and progress within the yachting industry.
